For those who find themselves into algo trading, but doesn't have a clue on how to start! Hi guys, I hope you're doing well!

I am a Data Scientist from Rio de Janeiro, and I've been an crypto investor for some years now (Remember MTGox? I'm still waiting for my money...)

I recently posted on GitHub my exclusive Algo Trading program. I decided to make it public to help people who are interested in starting in this area but have no idea how an API works, or don't know how to code in Python yet.

To learn more, just access this link here and all I ask in return is that if you have a LinkedIn profile, help me with a like, comment or maybe a share!!
(The post is in portuguese but LinkedIn can translate it for you. If you leave a comment in english all my brazilian mates will think I'm so fancy that job offers will fall like rain over me XD)

The program runs using Binance's API, but is easily converted to work with FTX API and others!
Any questions, I'm here for you. See ya!

2021.09.17 18:29 okletstrythisout3 Friday Appreciation Post

I know there's a lot of noise on this forum, but I just wanted to extend a quick moment of gratitude towards the folks here that actively try to help guide and educate people about the potential good of cryptocurrency.
I'm a relative noob to this world and the assistance from some of the people here has been invaluable. Some folks here will drop everything and spend their time to lead people to greener pastures. Without knowing a thing about me or my motivations, folks have wasted no time sending thoughtful responses and answers across a multitude of different subjects concerning crypto.
The world can be a vicious place, especially when money is involved, and it's folks here that look out for one another and actually care about other's well-being that really make me proud to be a part of this community.
Anyway, I just wanted to let you know that your unselfishness and warmth doesn't go unnoticed and I thank you from bottom of my heart.
Happy Friday to everyone and let's hope for some green days ahead. Cheers!

2021.09.17 18:29 Mockingbirdguy Abnormal Driving Test, super confused

Took my 2nd driving test today and the test ended before I even got to do a parallel park or 3 point turn???
Test lasted 7 - 8 mins, examiner was decent. He made three comments to me: "that turn was wide," "speed limits 25, let's speed up a little," and something about the lane I was in when I did a left turn.
Did I seriously fail before the parallel park and 3 point turn? I wasn't even nervous at all, I'm just confused

2021.09.17 18:29 Miss_Sin69 He asked for space

My boyfriend asked for space. We live together and split on bills and I’m the one who was asked to leave so he can have space. I’m afraid to ask when I can come back to my home too. I left Tuesday evening and it’s now Friday and he said a week.
I miss our cats and my home. I’ve been staying in a safe beds in my city because I have no where to go and don’t want to spend hundreds on a hotel. I miss him and want to make it work and I feel like he’s already decided to end it and just procrastinating telling me. He says we can still talk but he’s cold and short and has had a friend over every night so I don’t see how he could think. He said he’s not ready for me to come back but I feel displaced and abandoned. I don’t want to push him away by trying to come home but I miss home. I even said if I come home and still give him space, not talk to him him, sleep on the couch and even get up early and go out until he leaves for work.
What do I do. I’m so scared to loose him.

2021.09.17 18:29 ShakeItUpNowSugaree Week 2 of $40(ish) Meals for Three

Week 2 of $40(ish) Meals for Three A couple of notes from week 1 (The plan for week 1 can be found HERE):
-Like I mentioned in the other post, the amount of vegetables I'd planned for was fine for the fried rice, but really needed to be increased for the soup and the shepherd's pie. I also ended up using two boxes of mac and cheese. That increased my cost to $39.64 before tax, so it still came in under $40 if you're lucky enough to live in a place that doesn't tax groceries (I don't).
-A stomach bug hit my house this week so we will not have to figure out an extra meal for Sunday.
-One of the things that I value in addition to saving money is saving time. When I cooked the rice for the red beans and rice, I made enough to have rice for the fried rice. When I made the tacos, I cooked all of the ground beef together and portioned it out into containers for the other three meals. That prep work helped when making other meals.
-There are some things that I try to portion out early in the week, like the shredded cheese. This is so that the plague of locusts, err...I mean the 8 year-old boy, doesn't wipe them out before I can use them.

Week 2:
This is 6 nights worth of dinners for 2 adults and an 8 year-old. Assuming that you're starting from scratch, it didn't quite come in under $40. However, if you followed week 1, you likely already have some of the things on the list, which will help. If you followed week 1, then you should have some liquid smoke left over. That will work as a substitute for the smoked paprika in the black bean soup. You may also have some rice. The cocoa powder is optional for the chili, though it really does make a difference. Omitting those three things will bring the cost of the list down to a *just* under $40.

Shopping List:

A little higher than I'd like, but if you use the liquid smoke and rice from week 1 and opt out of using the cocoa powder then the total is $39.69.

Menu:
Monday - Chicken Finger Salad
Tuesday - Smoky Black Bean Soup
Wednesday - Rice and Broccoli Casserole
Thursday - Potato Soup
Friday - Chicken Parm
Saturday - Three Bean Chili
Sunday - Chopped - Broke Ass Edition

Recipes:
Chicken Finger Salad - Cook half of the chicken strips as per the package instructions. Use the lettuce, tomatoes, 1/2 cup of the shredded cheddar, dressing, and any other salad toppings that you have available. Use a few slices of the bread, some butter, and a clove of the garlic (or any other seasonings you have/like) to make croutons.

Smoky Black Bean Soup
1 yellow onion
2 cloves garlic
3 15oz. cans black beans
1 15oz. can fire roasted diced tomatoes
1 tsp ground cumin
1/2 tsp dried oregano
1/2 tsp smoked paprika or chipotle powder*
1 15oz. can whole kernel corn
salt to taste

  1. Dice the onion and mince the garlic. Add the onion and garlic to a soup pot and steam sauté over medium heat for about 5 minutes, or until the onions are soft and translucent. Add water as needed to prevent sticking.
  2. While the onion and garlic are sautèing, use a blender to purée two of the three cans of black beans (with liquid from the can). If the beans are too thick to purée, add just enough water to make them blend.
  3. Add all three cans of black beans to the soup pot (one can of whole beans with liquid, two puréed), along with the can of diced tomatoes (with juices), corn, the cumin, oregano, and smoked paprika. Stir to combine.
  4. Place a lid on the pot and allow the soup to come up to a simmer. Allow the soup to simmer, stirring often, for about 15 minutes. After simmering for 15 minutes, taste and add salt to taste (I added 1/2 tsp). Serve hot with your choice of toppings.

Rice and Broccoli Casserole - Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Cook 1 cup of rice (makes ~3 cups once cooked). Warm the broccoli cuts in either the microwave or stovetop. Toast a few slices of bread and pulse them in a blender or crush them in a plastic bag to make breadcrumbs. Mix cooked rice with cream of mushroom soup, broccoli cuts, and 1/2 cup shredded cheddar. Add a little milk if needed to stretch the soup out, but don't make it too watered down. Top with the breadcrumbs and another 1/2 cup shredded cheese. Bake until the topping is browned and bubbling, maybe 30 minutes.

Potato Soup - This is a dish that I fondly remember my grandmother making from the new potatoes that she grew in her garden. Make a roux with 4 tbsp of butter and 4 tbsp of flour. Once the flour is cooked, add 4 cups of milk. Add the potatoes and let simmer covered on medium heat until the potatoes are tender and warmed through, stirring occasionally. Mash some of the potatoes against the side of the pot to thicken the soup up some. Taste and add salt as desired. The beauty of this recipe is that it's very versatile. If you have some of the cajun spice mix from week 1, add it. If you have some bacon strips, cook them first and use the grease from that in place of some of the butter for your roux. Then add the bacon pieces back into the soup. If you have any shredded cheddar left, top the soup with that. My grandmother always served this plain with a side of cornbread.

Chicken Parm - Cook the rest of the frozen chicken tenders as per the package directions. While they are cooking, boil 1/2 to 3/4 of a lb of spaghetti noodles as per package directions, aiming more for al dente than overly soft. In a small saucepan, mix the can of tomato sauce with oregano and any other Italian-profile spices that you have on hand. A little sugar will cut the acidity of the tomatoes, so if you have that on hand, add a couple of tablespoons. In a 2 qt. casserole dish, mix the noodles and the sauce. Top with the cooked chicken strips and add mozzarella slices on top of that. Bake for 20-30 minutes at 350 degrees F or until the cheese is bubbly. If you have any salad ingredients left over from earlier in the week, this is a good time to use them for a nice side salad.

Three Bean Chili
1/4 cup water (for water saute)
1 large onion, diced
3 cloves garlic, minced (or 1 1/2 tsp garlic powder)
3 tablespoons chili powder
1 can (15 oz) black beans, drained and rinsed
1 can (15 oz) kidney beans, drained and rinsed
1 can (15 oz) pinto beans, drained and rinsed
2 cans diced tomatoes with chiles
1 tablespoon cocoa powder or small piece of dark chocolate (about 1/2 oz.), optional
1 1/2 cups water or vegetable broth, + more if needed
mineral salt & pepper, to taste
  1. Saute: In large pot heat olive oil over medium heat, saute onion for 7 minutes, or until tender and translucent. Add the garlic, chili powder, cook for 1 minute, or until fragrant.
  2. Simmer: Add the beans, tomatoes, chocolate, and liquids, bring to boil, reduce heat, cover askew, and simmer for 15 – 20 minutes or so, stirring occasionally. Add more water as needed. Taste for flavor, season with salt and pepper, and add anything else you feel it needs.

Notes:
-I really hated listing that many herbs and spices for a single menu, but hopefully most people have at least one of them already. As such, I know that the soup and the chili have similar flavor profiles, so that's why I'm planning them with several days in between. And these particular ones form the basis of homemade taco seasoning.
-I listed canned corn for the black bean soup, but frozen corn is only about 15 cents more at my store and the corn can be split between the soup and the chili.
-You can make cream of whatever using the same technique with the roux as in the potato soup, but the broccoli and rice casserole is supposed to be a quick weeknight meal for us.
-I chose broccoli pieces instead of florets for this meal because I like having a more homogenous mix in my casserole and it's a bit cheaper. Where I live, broccoli and cauliflower are both cheaper frozen than fresh, which is fine with me because part of my plan is to have recipes that can be on the table quickly after work.
-The chicken strips aren't something that I buy frequently, but chicken parm is a particular favorite of my kid. We don't eat a ton of meat at home so we do occasionally splurge on it.
-If you can swing it at all, there are some things that will absolutely be used in future meals that can be purchased in bulk. I generally buy my rice in 20 lb. bags. Onions are cheaper in 3 lb. bags than individually.
